Academic Education

The Fermentation Based Biomanufacturing initiative offers academic education, especially for Master-students and PhD-students.

Key elements are the newly developed integrated Master study line in Fermentation Based Biomanufacturing, for students in the Master of Biotechnology and Master of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, and the Fermentation Based Biomanufacturing PhD-programme.

All educational programmes are based on cutting-edge research, which is carried out in the involved research groups, e.g., in fundamental physiology of production organisms, synthetic biology, and metabolic engineering, scale-up process technology, or downstream processing.

The academic education in FBM aims to prepare for careers in the fermentation industry, but entering a university career is equally possible.
